Clear aligners or braces?

Both can straighten teeth. The more suitable option depends on the movements required, your bite and how you prefer to manage treatment day to day.
Clear aligners
Removable for meals and cleaning, and generally less noticeable. They depend on consistent wear as prescribed, and attachments may still be visible.
Fixed braces
Stay on your teeth throughout treatment and do not depend on remembering to wear removable trays. Cleaning needs additional care. Braces may also be more suitable when certain tooth movements or bite corrections are difficult to achieve predictably with aligners.

What living with clear aligners involves.
Clear aligners are removable, but consistent daily wear, cleaning and regular reviews are important parts of treatment.
Wear them consistently
Follow the daily wear schedule prescribed for your treatment.
Remove them for meals
Remove aligners for food and drinks other than plain water, then clean your teeth before reinserting them.
Attend progress reviews
Your dentist will review aligner fit and tooth movement during treatment. Refinements may sometimes be needed.
Plan for retainers
Retainers are needed after active treatment to help maintain the new tooth positions.

Is Angel Aligner the same as Invisalign?
No. Angel Aligner and Invisalign are different clear-aligner systems. AERIS provides Angel Aligner treatment. The appropriate appliance depends on your assessment and treatment plan.
How long will treatment take?
The time needed depends on your teeth, bite, planned movements and how consistently you wear your aligners. Your dentist will discuss an estimated timeline after assessment. Extra trays or refinements may be needed, so a digital plan is not a guarantee of the final result or completion date.
How do aligners fit into everyday life?
Wear them for the daily hours prescribed by your dentist. Remove them for meals and drinks other than plain water, and clean your teeth before putting them back in. Consistent wear and review appointments are part of treatment.
Will I need attachments or other procedures?
Some plans need small tooth-coloured attachments, elastics, carefully planned reduction between teeth or other dental procedures. These depend on your bite and the movements required and will be discussed before you decide.
Will clear aligners hurt?
Pressure or tenderness can occur, particularly when changing trays. Aligners and attachments may also irritate the mouth. Contact the clinic if pain is persistent or a tray does not fit properly; do not force it into place.
Will I need retainers afterwards?
Yes. Teeth can move again after active treatment. Retainers and ongoing wear as prescribed help maintain their positions. Ask which retainers are included in your plan and about future replacement costs.
